I realized that I haven't blogged in a while, and I have some time so I thought that I would type away.

SUMMER.....
.
One thing is for sure- God's love and faithfulness have been a constant in this busy, ever changing life. Living in grandpa's house without him here has been difficult. Today mom was going through some gifts that she bought on sale last summer for father's day and she found a mug for grandpa. I'm just thankful that we were able to move in with grandpa during his last years. I visited his grave last week and I sat and told him that I miss him. I realize that he can't hear me, but I did it anyway. Yesterday I realized how much I miss playing checkers with him when mom gave me our well worn, cloth checker board from Cracker Barrel. She told me, "I don't know what you want to do with this". I have so many memories attached to that checker set (the checkers stick to the cloth because we played so often and it's missing one red checker. So there are 11 red checkers and 1 red plastic lid). I am cleaning my room out and have a bag of cloths and other things to give away but I took the checker game and put it in my closet. I just can't part with it.
.
Another blessing in my life has been the college and career group at my church. Due to work in the past I was unable to make it, but this summer I am enjoying going on Sunday nights and learning, having fun, and fellowship. This Saturday a bunch of us are going down to Camden New Jersey to serve the people there. We will be handing out used clothing, books, and making lunch for the people. I have been looking forward to this since Jared told me about it on Sunday night.
.
A month ago was also the start to my long distance relationship with Zack. I will say that being in a long distance relationship after being together is so different. So different. The hardest part was saying goodbye because I cried like a baby because I knew that we wouldn't be together for a while. Despite my personal preference of being together - this whole long distance thing hasn't been all that bad. I am so thankful for technology because it allows us to talk and play games- yes, Skype is pretty much amazing. Currently, Zack is the champion and I can't seem to win. Even in this situation God has proved His faithfulness because He has shown me over and over again that He is in complete control. I was worried about this long distance relationship but God wasn't surprised by it because He had it planned. God has been my Comforter when I get into one of my mindsets of missing Zack. I also know that God is using this time to teach us different lessons for the future. And in a way this long distance relationship has a benefit because now I have more time to spend with family, make new friends in my church group, and go to Camden this Saturday. I am getting out of my comfort zone by being in this long distance relationship and I can't see what God will continue to do in this area of my life.
.
Speaking of long distance relationship, I will be going to see Zack for his birthday in early August---- and I CAN"T WAIT!!! I know, it seems weird but I've been counting down the weeks. I've been busy this week which helped the week to fly by. Also, the week before I leave I will be busy with VBS at my church. Speaking of his birthday, I have no clue what to get him. I think guys are so hard to shop for. He says he likes video games but I don't want to buy one that he already has. But at least I have 8 weeks to decide on a gift. Or, I can be like my boyfriend and give him a belated birthday gift because my birthday is in January and he gave me a gift (belated birthday gift) in MAY.
.
Running- I've still been running and my mom has joined me. We go almost every night around the block. I really would like to run in a 10k in the end of July. I'm trying to convince my brother to do it with me...but time will tell. In the mean time, this Monday I am planning on running around a local lake, Harvey's lake. It is 9 miles around and I ran around it last summer. Last summer it took me a little over 2 hours to run the lake, so I wonder how long it will take me Monday...?
.
Family- I have enjoyed being with them. Chad graduated high school last week :) My parents are a riot and they alone keep life interesting and entertaining. They (we) are crazy and I love it! This Sunday we are going on a family cookout after church and I can't wait!
.
New Things I've done so far....
1. Planted a garden
2. Mowed the lawn (on a riding mower- thanks Sean for showing me how)
3. Made a Resume
4. Got layers in my hair
5. Made "the best" potato salad (according to dad...mom wasn't too happy about that comment)
6. Rearranged my room
7. Saw 5 live turtles in 1 day (and took pictures of them all)
8. booked a flight to Florida and back
.
And that's my summer update for now... and I can't wait to see what this summer holds.
